Ideoms

Formed in January 2005 by John Nichol and Hilary Bell, Ideoms specialises in shows about Burns and Hogg and original dramatic productions with music. Ideoms has had two seasons of Burns' shows at Bowhill Little Theatre and at the Glen Cafe. The play "Crossfire" by John Nichol was performed at the Edinburgh Fringe 2005 and toured the South of Scotland in the spring of 2006. The world War 1 piece, "War and Glaur" is also available for touring.

In the autumn Hilary and John Nichol as IDEOMS theatre company will be performing in the Borders with a musical drama War & Glaur from the 1st World War featuring words of Scottish writers: John Buchan, William H. Ogilvie, Robert Service, Harry Lauder and others less well known.

War & Glaur is composed almost entirely of poetry and song, which takes us from the jingoism of the recruitment drive to the horrific reality of No Man's Land; from the fellowship of the trenches to the loss of close friends and loved ones.
